Fitness Photoshoot with Herworld Singapore

Was called up for a photoshoot last November with Herworld Singapore and here are some of the photos taken. Enjoy!

Final product from the shoot

Behind the scene

A photo with Richmond & Raz
And finally, Q&A segment video :)

There's a hidden story behind every photoshoot and that's what make every shoot special and unique. As for this shoot, i pulled my back from deadlift just 5 days before the shoot. Went for 2 treatment sessions without the 5 days and non stop stretching. I couldn't do any form of cardio after hurting myself so it was done purely with core workouts and stretching.

I'll remember this shoot for a long long time :)

Till the next post my friends.

Supplement Review: Musclepharm Combat Powder

Hi guys, it's been a long time since I last updated my blog due to my hectic schedule. But hey, I'm back and that's all that matters right? :)

There has been quite a large number of friends asking me about the sports supplements that I'm taking and it's not very easy to answer everyone. So I'll be using my blog as a platform to slowly introduce the various sports supplements that I'm currently taking. I will also give a short review about my experience taking them.

I'm lucky enough to be chosen as a sponsored athlete with Rich Nutrition and I have to say that the team running the whole show is really impressive. Here are the brands that Rich Nutrition is currently carrying.

Alright, let's begin with the featured product for this entry:

I've always been a fan of protein blend and BSN was my number one choice for the longest time. Well until the MusclePharm Combat came about.

Here's some details of the Combat Powder:

With a precision-engineered matrix that contains whey protein concentrates, hydrolysates, and isolates, as well as egg albumin and micellar casein, COMBAT is the ultimate timed-released protein super-food! Because each of the distinct protein sources found within COMBAT digest at varying rates, amino acids are not only flooded into the bloodstream within minutes after consumption, but will continuously be trickle fed to your muscles for up to 8 hours afterward!

Supplement fact for Combat Powder
After my encounter with BSN Syntha 6, I came to realise that if you're really in need of good tasting protein shakes, you must get protein blend! IT'S A MUST! I believe that it's the egg protein that is contributing to the rich taste. Normal whey protein is usually more flat tasting and most of the time slightly artificial.

In my humble opinion, Musclepharm Combat Powder taste as good or if not, slightly better than BSN Syntha 6. But the winning factor will be due to the variety of flavours that this brand offers!

I've tasted 3 different flavours(Milk Choc, Choc Mint & Choc Peanut Butter) and all 3 flavours taste amazing. Why did I choose all chocolate flavours, some might ask. I personally feel that the safest bet for protein shakes will be their line of chocolate flavours and if any company screws up the taste for their chocolate flavoured shakes, you can forget about the rest!

So all in all, here's my verdict:

Brand: Musclepharm
Product: Combat Powder

Taste: 4.5 / 5
Mixibility: 4.5 / 5
Price: 4 / 5

Who will I recommend this product to?

Anyone who is serious is their training and needs a good dose of rich tasting protein shake. But remember, protein blend tends to be slightly higher in the calorie count as compared to the normal whey protein but if you're managing your meals properly, having the Combat Powder will not affect at all.

We are featured on Sunday Times Hot Bod Section

So many friends have been coming up to me telling me how lucky I am to have a fit & beautiful wife like Limaran. To be honest, I can't agree more!

Limaran and I got to know each other in 2007 during our freshmen year. Even though we were from different courses, it was the SIM RMIT pageant that got us to become friends. She was also supposed to be my pageant partner, until the organiser found out that she's one of the tallest contestant and I was one of the shortest. So how? Got to change partner lah!
Can you spot a Mediacorp actor in our midst?
We then found out that we were in the same department in Student Council and had to plan for a department chalet together. One thing led to another and we eventually got closer.
I can't believe that was how we looked in 2007!
During one of Student Council's many events

Back to present time, the year is 2014.....

Limaran and I were selected to be featured in Sunday Times Hot Bod section. We were really excited to be able to get featured together as a fitness couple. Many people have the mind set that once you're married, there goes your physique. But Limaran and I will beg to differ. If fitness is something that you're passionate about, it should be done for the rest of your life. I'm sure that there will be a difference in the type of workout you may choose at different times of your life, but keeping yourself active is something that should be a priority for everyone of us, especially in a highly developed country like Singapore.

A moment to be remembered
A short blog post to add into my blog. Hoping to motivate and inspire couples to start working out together and be a good example to friends and family members around you!
Happy Vesak day to all our Buddhist friends and Happy Holidays to the rest of us!

Take care and God bless!
