100PLUS Run For Good Event

Working out has always been a part of my life and I always give my best when it comes to training. I believe in investing time to work out so as to be responsible for my own health. It has always been rather inward focus and often wondered how it will feel like to work out for a good cause.

I had the opportunity to do exactly that as soon as I got out from reservist last week. I was invited to the 100PLUS Run For Good event at Kallang Wave Mall. When I saw the invitation, I knew that I will have to be there no matter how busy or tired I was. I always believe in doing my part, no matter how big or small, to support a great initiative.

More about 100PLUS Brand:

As Singapore’s No.1 isotonic drink, 100PLUS aids in replenishing lost fluids, energy and electrolytes to combat the effects of dehydration, heat and exertion, enabling individuals to achieve peak performance in their daily active lifestyle.

100PLUS created the Run For Good event for 2 simple but powerful reasons:
      1)     To get everyone to get up and be active
      2)     To allow everyone to do their part for a good cause through this process

 Here’s how it works:
       1)     Register and run on a treadmill for 10mins
       2)     100PLUS will donate $10 to SportCares for every one kilometre you run
       3)     Get a free 100PLUS towel and drink after you run
       4)     Clock 1.5 km in 10minutes to receive a free Soleus Fitness Tracker worth $128

What is SportCares?

SportCares works to improve the lives of underprivileged children, youth-at-risk, needy seniors, people with physical and/or intellectual disabilities and the disadvantaged in our community.

100PLUS Run For Good Event (Kallang Wave Mall)

So what happens when you create an event that allows people to do their part for a good cause?

The queue was amazingly long and participants will have to wait as long as 2 hours before their turn to run. When I reached Kallang Wave Mall and saw the huge crowd waiting to do their part for charity, it put a huge smile on my face. I believe that all we need to do is to be open to getting started and 100PLUS provided a platform for everyone to do just that =)

I was fortunate to beat the queue and proceeded straight to my 10 minutes run.

Helpful event staffs were all around the runners, providing any required assistance as well as to look out for safety.
Ready, get set, GO!

As I was running, I saw an elderly lady who’s probably in her 70s, doing her part in this event too. Despite her age, she was still jogging at a relative fast pace and her fitness level was reflected in her great physique and radiant complexion. I will definitely want to be like her when I reach her age. What a heart-warming sight.

As soon as the 10 minutes run was done, the event staff immediately provided me with a can of ice cold 100PLUS and a 100PLUS towel. In these 10 minutes of my life, not only did I get a great workout, I did it for a good cause. In May this year, my company organised a fund raising event for the Napal Earthquake, ‘Sweat For Nepal’, and we managed to raise over $7000 in 4 hours. However, I wasn’t a participant in that event. This time round, as a participant of 100PLUS Run For Good, the feeling is total different. It really made me feel that I can make a difference in my own capacity and it is a great feeling. =)

It was a really fulfilling Sunday after 2 weeks of reservist and I will like to thank 100PLUS for inviting me to their Run For Good event.

100PLUS donated a total of $25,000/- to SportsCares and here's a video showcasing the 100PLUS Run For Good event.

DENTISTE' Oral Care

Even though I wasn’t blessed with a nice set of teeth when I was growing up, I was fortunate enough for my mummy to get my teeth fixed at the age of 16 years old. Ever since, oral hygiene has always been of great importance for me.

But no matter how much I cleanse, brush, scrub my teeth at night, my breath will still smell in the morning. I never knew there can be a solution for this problem until DENTISTE’ came about.

Some information about the brand
DENTISTE' has been a global leader in premium oral care solutions with its products spreading across 20 countries in 6 continents. Their innovative offerings to both consumers and dental professionals are the full range of premium natural products equipped with many of the world's most advanced dental technologies backed by solid clinical studies, thus helping people take a superior care of their oral hygiene in ways previously not possible with older technologies. Their strong commitment to relentless innovation and quality has resulted in products that have received worldwide accolades and truly improved people's lives.

DENTISTE’ Line of products that is here to cure the following:
-         - BAD BREATH from oral bacteria
-         - RELATIONSHIP between lovers affected from bad breath
          -FACE through its premium image

DENTISTE’ Kissing Silhouette Event (Cineleisure)

Limaran and I were so happy to be invited to the first ever Silhouette kissing photo booth in Singapore, by DENTISTE’! We had a chance to take some really cool photos and also answer some questions by the emcee.

Emcee asked if Limaran’s breath smells good every morning before using DENTISTE’, I don’t know what to say…….HELP!

DENTISTE' Nighttime Toothpaste

DENTISTE' Nighttime Toothpaste is made with advanced dental technologies and powered with premium natural ingredients, 14 Natural Extracts, Xylitol, Vitamin C, and other ingredients, which are specially formulated to inhibit nighttime oral bacteria that are the major cause of bad morning breath and tooth cavities.

I’ve been using the whole range of DENTISTE’ products and really love the results of it. DENTISTE’ has both day time and night time toothpaste and I always end my mouth care regime with the oral rinse. Really love that it is not too spicy like some other oral care brands. What I also noticed is that the minty sensation stays for a longer period of time, which I really like.

Limaran and I can now laze in bed for a morning chat and not needing to feel embarrassed  because our breath still smells fresh after a good night’s rest.

Remember to get you and your partner a set of DENTISTE’ oral care product this Christmas. DENTISTE’ products are sold in all major retail stores.

Also, remember to LIKE Dentiste Singapore Facebook and watch the Singapore's 1st Dentiste' Silhouette Event video (http://synad3.nuffnang.com.sg/gtrack/click/14562)

Road to better complexion: Venus Viva Treatment (Final)

Hi guys, I’ve recently completed my last session of Venue Viva Treatment and I’m here to show you the results after just 6 sessions.

For those who have yet to check out my previous blog posts about Venus Viva, here are the links:
Blogpost 1: http://jasonjuliuslim.blogspot.sg/2015/04/road-to-better-complexion-venus-viva.html

Blogpost 2:  http://jasonjuliuslim.blogspot.sg/2015/06/road-to-better-complexion-venus-viva.html

Before we do that, let me do a little recap on what Venus Viva is all about.

Venus viva is a revolutionary, patented, effective and impressive medical device from Israel using NanofractionalRadiofrequency(RF) and a SmartScan technology to treat acne scars, improve skin laxity and facial rejuvenation.

This advanced technology allows deep and uniform penetration of radiofrequency heat energy into the epidermis(superficial) and dermis(deep layers of the skin) to ablate and coagulate the skin resulting in micro-wounds.

Healing of the micro-wounds results in regeneration of new collagen and tightening of collagen to repair the skin and reduce the depths of the acne scars.

Basically, the result from this treatment is close to Fractional CO2 minus the down time. Here’s a glimpse of the kind of downtime for Fractional CO2. Pretty nasty if you ask me!

I’ve decided to do some tracking so that I can see for myself the kind of results that I’ve gotten after the 6 sessions of Venus Viva Treatment that I signed up for.

This was taken in April 2015. I was recommended to have my sessions done on a monthly basis. And that was what I did.

Here’s a progress shot after session 3.

As the sessions went by, my doctor started to increase the level of intensity for each treatment as I’m not suffering from any downtime or redness. With the higher intensity level, more collagen will be stimulated and improving the results of the treatment further.

The stimulation of collagen does not only help to heal the acne scars, some of the other benefits include refining of facial pores, diminishing wrinkles and tightening of skin. Sound like the perfect all in one treatment already?

I had Dr Grace completing my final session and she didn’t hold back on the intensity at all. I could feel quite a big difference in terms of the pain scale but nothing unbearable.

And after 6 sessions of treatment, I’m really glad to say that my complexion has significantly improved and the deep acne scars are much less obvious.

Limaran used to be quite concerned about 3 problems about my complexion!
     1)      Acne Scars
     2)      Wrinkles
     3)      Huge facial pores

I’m so glad that I’ve found the right treatment for my complexion and will highly recommend anyone who is a victim of acne scars to try it! Dr Grace & Dr Luping are one of the best doctors I’ve consulted because they were also victims of Acne & skin problem and started their pursuit for better complexion and managed to come across some really good treatment solutions.

TANGS #ShopForGood Campaign

[Sponsored Post]

In this fast paced and developed city of ours, everyone is always spending money on the latest technology to the latest clothing on the rack! We are a citizen of shopping addicts and nothing is going to stop or slow us down in our spending habits.

This month, TANGS unites brands in support of good causes and socially responsible shopping with exclusive products and promotions for various beneficiaries and lets you #ShopForGood.
For the month of October, TANGS will donate 50cents to the Singapore Children’s Society for every receipt generated (up to a max. of $100,000). More than 50 brands have come on board to be a part of this wonderful social movement.

I was fortunate to be invited to TANGS’ shopping event on 10 October for an afternoon of fun and responsible shopping. There were also a number of interesting workshops that were happening at TANGS and I was more than happy to join in!

First stop, Terrarium Workshop by Mossingarden. Mossingarden is a verdant venture that began with an idea to re-purpose products naturally. No products are the same though identical. Through adventures and the love for nature, with a flair for artistic beauty, it seeks to merge together art and nature to a whole new level. All works are produced with delicate care and creativity.

My very own jar of MOSS!!!
With the founder of Mossingarden
Next stop, I went to Royal Selangor for some banging and clanging. I’m not talking about the iron paradise aka the weight room; I was at Royal Selangor to make my very own pewter bowl!

Got my name engraved on the pewter bowl before we started with all the banging and knocking!

I had the lovely Vivian to guide me through the whole process of making my pewter bowl. I was determined to make a really nice one because I wanted to give it to Limaran =)

The friendly but serious teacher

The final look of my pewter bowl & my proud teacher
Make your very own pewter bowl for $30 and Royal Selangor will donate 50% of it to charity! How cool is that?

After all the hard work, I was led to TANGS beautiful Hideaway at level 7! I didn’t know that such a place in TANGS existed. And while we were taking a breather, the star for the day arrived. I’ve been watching his shows since I was little and he has always been one of my favourite TV actors. This guy never grows old and I was so honoured to be sharing a personal conversation with him about his journey in the entertainment industry.

Ladies & gentlemen, the one and only…….EDMUND CHEN!!!

Edmund Chen was invited to TANGS as he collaborated with Samsonite to produce some really beautiful and limited edition travel luggage.

All proceeds from this series will be donated to Thye Hua Kuan Moral Society during TANGS’ very first Silent Auction on 29 October, 7pm. (http://bit.ly/TANGS-SilentAuction)

Edmund Chen was led to the huge crowd awaiting his appearance at level 3 where he did some Samsonite giveaways.

I am truly impressed how TANGS can bring everyone together with a powerful movement and yet at the same time not requiring consumers to change any habits at all. Just do what we, Singaporeans, do best and we’ll be doing a good deed with responsible shopping =)

#ShopForGood is a conscious decision by TANGS to take the first steps to a whole new way to shop, for the greater good.

So head over to TANGS this month to do your part!
